Who is Maximus?

Hello, my name is Maximus Simmons. I am pretty bad when's it comes to talking about myself, Im getting better at it! I am a student at Oakland High School. I Sit on the board of education for Oakland Unified School District as a student director. I am going into my 2nd term! I represent 34,000 students across Oakland advocating and fighting for voice and action. I additionally work with mayor Barbara Lee as a member on her 100 day transition team. further I chair the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council ensuring Oaklands youth has a voice at the big boy table.

I enjoy to write and understand things. I guess through this blog, I will allow people to understand me as I try to understand this world.

As I learn I try to teach. I want to learn and share new perspectives. I write what's on my mind. And I hope you enjoy,
